Since 1943
Induma was founded in 1943 by the German immigrant Hermann Hinrich Purnhagen, who arrived in Brazil in 1922 carrying a wealth of cultural knowledge, professional carpentry skills, and an innovative spirit.
He started operations in Rio do Sul – SC, in the lumber industry, as a manufacturer of marine plywood, doors, and windows.
Starting in the 1970s, with Horst Gerhard Purnhagen as CEO, the company shifted its activities to cardboard manufacturing, relocating its production facilities to its current location in Taió – SC.
Environment
Ambiente
All the firewood consumed in the factory comes from our own reforestation areas.
The company recycles thousands of tons of paper annually, sourced from waste pickers, recycling cooperatives, and collection centers.
All waste generated at the factory is properly treated and disposed of.
